UGC NET examination is conducted twice a year by National Testing Agency. To become an assistant professor, UGC NET qualification is mandatory in most universities in the country.
The examination consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 consisting of general awareness of the candidate, reasoning ability, divergent thinking, reading comprehension is common for all UGC NET aspirants. However, Paper 2 will consist of law based questions.
In terms of weightage,
Paper 1 will consist of 50 questions and carries 100 marks.
Paper 2 will consist of 100 questions and carried 200 marks.
